    Notes and advice from Sean McColl.

I know it’s been ages since my last post, and I’ll be brutally honest. I’ve been super busy at school. I’m in my 3rd semester at BCIT in the CST program and they say that this semester is the hardest one. I’m taking 7 courses and they are:
  • Programming Windows
  • Programming in C++
  • Data Communications
  • Object Oriented Analysis and Design
  • Algorithms and Design
  • Digital Processing
  • Digi Pro Projects Course
In the past 3 months, I’ve been mainly programming in Win32, Java, C and C++. Between being at school 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and trying to train 4 days a week, my life has been very busy you could say. There’s only a few more weeks of school and then the dreaded exam week. Fortunately at BCIT, the exam week is the week after last day of classes which gives me 3 weeks of much needed vacation! I have big plans for 2011 and beyond which I’ll be writing about over the Christmas break. Happy Holidays! I’ve also added a translation bar on the right side of the screen. Someone commented on this and I thought it would be a great idea, thanks! You can now translate my website into a variety of langues. The only downside that I’ve found is when you translate the page, you have to revert back to English to translate to a different language. I hope that people who are interested in my site but can’t read English will stumble upon this feature!

    Hey man

    As a fan of your previous performances at the Seattle Bouldering Challenge I’m wondering if you’ll be there this Saturday.

    Best,
    Ben

    Hey Sean,

    Just wanted to say that the 3rd semester was definitely the hardest so, stick through it (you’re probably in exam time now). I went through the program 5 years ago and while the 3rd semester is a pain, the 4th was a lot of fun. What option are you in?

    Also, the translation bar is great to have and works reasonably well (as well as Google translate allows it to)

    Cheers,

    -Matt
